| I have always had a love for
decorating. As a child I was constantly rearranging my bedroom furniture. I
would spend hours building furniture out of cardboard and making curtains
out of scrap fabric and paper for my Barbie Dream house. As an adult I married a Naval Flight Officer and thus began 12 years of moving every 2-3 years. I became an expert at adapting the same 
furniture, artwork, curtains and accessories to work in the many different
places we called home. Be it an apartment, a single family house or military
housing, before I could call it “home” I had to make sure the furniture was
placed and the artwork and curtains were hung. For me personally, I wasn’t
ready to face the challenges that go along with joining a new community
until my home-my sanctuary- were in place. It wasn’t until after being a stay at home mom for 10 years that I decided to turn my love of decorating into a business. In 2006 I attended classes at FCCJ and then successfully completed a Redesign certification course,earning my designation as an Interior Redesign Industry Specialist. I launched my business, Lasting Impressions in March 2006 and am proud to offer my clients a full decorating services. However, my true passion will always be the Redesign or “One Day Decorating” aspect of the decorating industry which focuses on using the things you already own. I love the challenge of taking someone’s things and breathing new life into them by using them in new, creative ways. My motto is Your stuff…My ideas…Great Results! My Professional Affiliations are IRIS (Interior Redesign Industry Specialists) and SDP (Society of Decorating Professionals.) I am a certified Color Specialist trained by the internationally know “Queen of Decorating”, JoAnn Lenert-Weary.
